About My Car:

I took possession of my car on Wednesday morning January 14th 1998. I am the third owner. My car is in excellent condition with very few exceptions. The interior is all gray, it has a 5 speed transmission, the model year is 1982, VIN # 10911, December 1981 build.

I have replaced the original tires, headliners, done a lot of electrical work, front shocks, and I've lowered the front of the car (see the Special Documents page). In April 2003 I took the car to the DeLorean Motor Center for extensive updates:

· Refurbished the steering rack.
· Replaced firewall bushing.
· Replaced radiator with a metal radiator, all hoses, water pump, pipes as needed, cooling bottle.
· Replaced cooling fans.
· Repairs done on the front suspension.
· Replaced O2 sensor
· Replaced trailing arm bolts (Toby-TABs) and replace trailing-arm cover bolts.
· Replaced rear shocks - worn/poor rubber parts in rear suspension.
· Replaced battery strap.
· Replaced clutch master and slave cylinders if needed.
· Stainless steel clutch line.

I entered the car in the DeLorean Owners Association DeLorean Concours in 1998 and I got 5th place. The first 3 places were taken by cars that had been trailered in (I drove mine over 500 miles to get to the show) and I was only a few points away from 4th, so I was happy. To win at Concours level, EVERYTHING has to be 100% original, right down to the wiper blades, and it helps if you trailer in the car. The first owner of my car did win 3 first place awards at the New Hope Auto Show several years ago and I took first in class at the United British Sports Car Club show in May 1999, 2000 and 2003 (I didn't attend the show in 2001 and there was no DeLorean class in 2004 through 07).

These pictures were taken at the Gamble House in Pasadena:

The Gamble House was built by Greene and Greene in 1908. The house is designed in the style of the Arts and Crafts Movement made popular by designers like Frank Lloyd Wright. The Gamble house was used as the home of 'Doc Brown' in the Back to the Future movies.

In a column in the Los Angeles Times metro section called 'misceLAney', in one of September papers, the columnist mentioned that a friend of his spotted my car in front of the Gamble house:

miscelLAny:

A colleague visited Pasadena's landmark Gamble House, which was used in the movie "Back to the Future" as the home of Doc, the guy who builds a time machine in a Delorean. So what did my colleague see parked outside? A Delorean with the license plate OUTTIME. In the movie, Doc's time machine bore the license plate OUTATIME. The Gamble House says it ain't theirs. Strange, but I'm also outatime.

Yeah, that's me.. This picture was taken by Judy while we were at the Gamble House. Thanks again to the Docents for allowing us to do this little photo shoot. A few more pictures from the visit are below.

These 2 picture were taken when I first purchased the car, on a partly cloudy January 1998 day in Sacramento in front of the Teichert Construction offices.

As above, my wife, Judy.
