My #2 DeLorean

And here is my number 2 car - VIN 05729!

I have acquired a 2nd DeLorean. It last belonged to Lee Seiler. This was the car that was used by the SunStar Diecast Co. to make the 1/18th scale DeLorean and BTTF models. The same patterns were used by Welly for the 1/24 scale models. If you have one of those diecast cars you have a model of MY car. There are several 'features' of the car that have been reproduced in the models. I am in the process of restoring the car and will eventually offer it for sale. I'd keep it but I don't really have the room, and I'm happy to just have my original car.

I've been working on this car for the better part of 2 years. It has not required a lot of parts so far, but I've put a few hundred hours labor into fixing all the 'dreaded previous owner', 'ham-handed mechanic issues' and just trying to clean it up. It's come a long way in these pictures!

The following are images of the prototype Sunstar DeLorean at the 2001 Houston Open House:

They copied the bent front spoiler, the radio, the cooling bypass hose (which is strapped the wrong way BTW), the slightly overstuffed seats, and on the prototype, the rear licence plate and even the DOA sticker - which DMCH removed before these photos were taken.

Back to the real car:

Right now it has a leak in the heater core, needs more steering work, a tuneup and some electrical work. It sits so much I'm fighting non-use issues. These cars were ment to run and if they sit too much they leak and get fussy. The heater core is an example of that.
