Ken's 1964 Valiant Page

We bought 'Vali' new, and she's been with us all these years. She's currently in a state of 'arrested-decay' and has spent the last 10+ years stored inside after several years of sitting out in the elements wrapped in covers,. Now she lives in the big shop awaiting restoration. I hand-turn the motor over every month. The fuel tank has been pulled and coolant system is filled with straight antifreeze. The current mileage is 167,000 miles. The engine was rebuilt in 1978 at 145,000 miles.

My hope and plan is to do a rotisserie restoration. Every last part will be cleaned, repaired, painted, plated, or replaced. I plan to take the car back to the proper 'stock' look inside and out, but with every conceivable upgrade underneath. Will it be worth it $$ wise? No. But this will make a fine project for my mom (in her 70's and still loves to turn a wrench) and I. Plus, our old friend, who never let us down, deserves only the best. I expect she'll outlive both of us.

If you've happened upon these images and you are a Mopar expert, I'd really like to hear from you. I need sources for many stock parts (like a left rear tail light lens) and as much advise as I can get!

These pictures were taken in 1998, just before the car was put into deep storage. As you can see, outside of some surface rust on the lower panels, her original paint still shines.
